Fun Maps

Saturday May 28th 2011 – Fun Maps

Paige and I were driving back into SF. There must have been many activities and events around us that we couldn’t see. Once again I was surprised by Google Maps, how bad it was and how it didn’t represent the kind of view of data that I’d like to see. What I’d like from a map is several features including:

  1. offline persistence

  2. vector rendering rather than tile maps

  3. a feature where you can see where your friends are, were and their life contrails

  4. heatmaps of friend like places; including second order friendships

  5. a kind of filtered view of activities that you might like

  6. perhaps even a brokerage kind of view where you can see activities that you can help on

  7. all packaged as a handy iphone app
